People of Ahimsa is a community of dedicated individuals who seek to find nonviolent pathways that can bring lasting and just peace to Ukraine and Russia. We recognize that peace and justice go together and neither is achieved through violence or endless attack-and-retaliation cycles. We also understand the crucial role that civil society plays in finding alternative solutions to conflicts that can create meaningful change. This is why People of Ahimsa will work to build bridges of understanding between ordinary Ukrainians and Russians, as well as engage with civil society members of both countries who want the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine to stop and the process of reconciliation to begin.
